I am Dr. A. K. Davis, a native Floridian; who enjoys family time, the great outdoors, chess, igniting the light within, gaining and sharing knowledge, embracing community and the simple pleasures of life. Being connected to community through individuals and family has been a consistent RAY of SUNSHINE throughout my career transformation. My passion of being a service provider was introduced during my first career as a United States Postal Letter Carrier. The enjoyment of helping others through interpersonal relations and a yearning from within launched the pathway to the Helping and Healing Profession, Mental Health Counseling and Higher Education.

My academic studies include Early Childhood Education, Interpersonal Communications, Psychological Studies, and Counselor Education and Supervision. I am an Associate Psychology Professor and an Adjunct Professor for several Masters Counseling Education Programs in Dade County Florida.

I continue to serve South Florida Communities as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the State of Florida providing services for diverse populations of all ages as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the State of Georgia. In addition to being a provider of public service, I have written a children’s book, “But I Can’t See It”, inspiring an early message of self-empowerment and critical thinking. It is my Mission to Collaborate with YOU as WE Bridge DARKNESS into LIGHT!
